Bolton Red Rose Majorettes held Bolton's first ever majorette competition on 21st October 2007

On 21st October 2007, a number of skillfull majorette troupes arrived at the Bolton School to compete against each other under the keen eye of the Yorkshire Carnival Associations judges.

Bolton Red Rose are the only majorette troupe in the town who compete against other troupes from around the north of England. 

In 2003 they joined the YCA and won the grand title of "Universal Champions" at the annual championship event held in Bridlington each year. 

Rachael Bailey (Troupe Leader & Chair) said "This event was a first for Bolton Red Rose & a first for our Town, we looked forward to competing on our own turf against some of the best troupes around. 

Bolton Majorettes would like to say thank you  to a number of local businesses and , Warburtons for supporting the event.  The Mayoress of Bolton also attended the comeptition and presented the trophies. 

 Bolton Majorettes have another competition date booked for 14th September 2008, watch this space!!!!
